LET’S CONNECT

This history of PABJ was based on nearly two decades of intermittent interviews with founders and early members, newspaper articles, state of Pennsylvania records, members’ papers and documents, and more. The research was conducted primarily and independently by PABJ member Sherry L. Howard, with assistance from Antoinette Lee and other members as noted on the website.

If you have additional info, recollections, documents and photos, or would like to make corrections, please contact Sherry via the Contact form below. I’d like to be as accurate as possible, based on reliable documentation.

Sherry is a former president and two-time treasurer of PABJ, and its unofficial historian. She helped form Black journalists’ groups in her hometown of Macon, GA, and Tampa, FL (Suncoast Black Communicators), in the 1970s.

She writes about Black history in her blog “Auction Finds,” focusing on the interesting things she finds at auction, including art. She has compiled her writings about her art collection in the book “ART WITH HEART: How I Built a Sweet Collection by Buying Cheap at Auction.”
